Noticeboard

Have you booked your holiday yet?

Please remember to speak to the surgery well in advance of you going abroad for your holidays as some vaccinations need to be given six weeks or more in advance to take effect. We do not stock all vaccinations as they have to be ordered in due to 'shelf-life' and can add time onto the process.

Pick up our revised 'Travel' form from reception or speak to our staff for help and guidance.

Text Message Reminders

SMS Messaging

We are always looking at ways to improve our communication to patients, so we are now offering a SMS messaging service for appointment reminders.

Care will be taken to ensure that no personal information is released using this service and the practice will continue to observe the strictest controls with regard to holding your personal information in confidence.

Initially, an SMS text message will be sent containing your appointment details once you have booked an appointment. A further message will be sent 48 hours before the appointment is due as a reminder.

In the future, we will be looking to introduce a more interactive form of SMS text messaging which will allow you to cancel your appointment by text if you are no longer able to attend. This facility will allow us to send you health promotion initiatives such as flu jabs and NHS Health Check invitations.

If you have a mobile phone, are over 16 and would like to receive SMS text messages then please complete the slip below.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by notifying reception either verbally or in writing

You can now register to receive information by text message on your phone regarding appointments and health care.

If you wish to register for this messaging service please fill out the consent form.

New Data Protection Regulations from May 2018 (GDPR)

Under the new data protection regulations introduced from 25th May 2018, we will continue to contact patients via text messages regarding the delivery of care if they have provided consent to do so.

If practices are sending messages about recommended treatment for the management of a specific health issue, then this is defined as providing appropriate care for patients, not marketing purposes.

If you would like ot opt out of any future contact via text messaging, then please complete the form and indicate in the marked section.
